About me

Nom de plume is Modhail.

Been wargaming for over a decade. Tend to flit from project to project without ever really finishing everything.

Building a Space Hulk scenery set in 3D. I intend to finish it.

That is all you need to know for now….

  1. I have just recently started playing space hulk really, spent my night assembling genestealers so I can fight against something other than paper markers hehe. I have found your 3D corridors and rooms really inspiring and your doing an excellent job of it, I like how you’ve kept to the chapel style on some of your corridors, makes it look more like a real space marine hulk, reminds me of the ships in battlefleet gothic.

Anyway that is all, keep up the good work!

  2. Hi there,

I’m not sure if you are still pursuing this project but I would love to hear more, including any tips you have for me to try the same thing.

What did you make the bare skeleton out of?

  3. I’m still pursuing the project, just not actively at the moment….
Hobby projects have taken a back burner to real life the last couple of months, and with the busiest time of the year coming up at work I don’t see that changing soon, sadly.
Then again, I didn’t figure on finishing this quickly, I always assumed it would be a mulit-year effort.

The bare skeleton was made from a slightly foamy plasticard, it’s 3mm thick. The kind that is used for in-store adverts and displays.
Alternatively you could use regular (thick) plasticard or thin MDF (though that would get heavy…)
If I were to do this project again, I wouldn’t glue on both side walls, but keep one of them separate until after detailing and painting.
I discovered I’m having some trouble reaching things.

    Bye, Modhail

  4. I found lcd key chains that you can use as computer screens, they were 10 bucks a piece, I took pictures of start treck NG and deleted sections and changes colors on the buttons did about 12 differ screens so when the pictures change it looks like a real computer screen.

I have more to share do you have any pictures of what you made so far?

  5. making mine 8 levels 30 by 48 per level inside and out

  6. Yosef, all the pictures I have are either in here or the photobucket account (it’s linked in one of the posts).
    8 levels, 30×48 squares per level? That’s a bit big, isn’t it?

  7. Hi, I came across your site and wasn’t able to get an email address to contact you. Would you please consider adding a link to my website on your page. Please email me back and we’ll talk about it.
